SPONSORSHIP INFORMATION

Corporate, retail and individual donors are invited to become a Sponsor of the Southwestern Amateur Championship held at Desert Mountain Club. The Southwestern Golf Association (SWGA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that supports the championship and promotes amateur golf in the Southwest. It has been the funding source for the championship, in addition to player entry fees and partner support.  Initially the Southwestern Amateur Championship was founded as a men’s tournament with the Women’s Championship added in 2021.  We are honored to annually host one of the best championships for men and women amateur golfers.

The move to Desert Mountain Club has increased the visibility of the Championship, as well as elevating it to one of the nation’s top amateur tournaments. In 2024, the Women’s Southwestern Amateur Championship was named one of five Championships in the Women’s Elite Amateur Golf Series (WEAGS).

However, in order to reach and maintain national stature, the SWGA continues to seek sponsorships.  Many players and past Champions from the Southwestern Amateur Championship have gone on to rewarding careers on the PGA TOUR and LPGA Tour.  This is your opportunity to contribute to the next generation of golfers.  We offer you or your company an opportunity to sponsor our Championship and these young players.

In thanks for your support, your organization will be recognized in various promotional materials – including on-course signage, the printed player program, the Southwestern Amateur website as well as through media exposure generated for the championship.  In addition, participation will demonstrate your support of the Southwestern Amateur Championship but could also  create new relationships within the SWGA and the local golf industry.

If you would like to learn more about these opportunities, please contact Scott McNevin at (602) 944-6168.

INTERESTED IN BEING A VOLUNTEER?

Every year, the key to the success of running the Southwestern Amateur championship are the volunteers who provide support for on-course scoring, ball spotting and numerous other activities.

We are looking for volunteers who wish work one day or multiple days.  Wednesday and Thursday offer morning and afternoon shifts.  Friday and Saturday offer morning shifts.  You may volunteer for the number of shifts your schedule allows.  Volunteers may request their preference for assignments and every attempt will be made to honor your request.

All volunteers receive a complimentary golf shirt, hat, player program, plus breakfast and lunch during your shift.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Volunteer Headquarters or email swamateurvolunteer@gmail.com.
