Corporate, retail and individual donors are invited to become a Sponsor of the Southwestern Amateur Championship held at Desert Mountain Club. The Southwestern Golf Association (SWGA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that supports the tournament and promotes amateur golf in the Southwest. It has been the funding source for the tournament, other than player entry fees and sponsorships. Historically, the Southwestern Amateur was a men’s tournament but in 2021, the SWGA added a women’s Championship.
The move to Desert Mountain Club has increased the visibility of the Championship, as well as elevating it to one of the nation’s top amateur tournaments. In 2024, the Women’s Southwestern Amateur Championship was named one of five Championships in the Women’s Elite Amateur Golf Series (WEAGS).
However, in order to reach and maintain national stature, the SWGA continues to seek sponsorships. Many players and past Champions from the Southwestern Amateur Championship have gone on to rewarding careers on the professional tours. This is your opportunity to contribute to the next generation of golf stars. We offer you or your company an opportunity to sponsor, within your budget, the tournament and these young players.
In return for your commitment, your organization will be recognized in various promotional materials – including on-course signage to the player and spectator programs, as well as through media exposure generated for the tournament and its players. In addition, participation will demonstrate your support of the Southwestern Amateur but could also create new relationships within the SWGA and the local golf industry.
If you would like to learn more about these opportunities, please contact John Ranslem at 480-695-4071. Additionally, if you’d like to help better the tournament, donations are graciously accepted.
Every year a key to the success of running the Southwestern Amateur tournament are the volunteers who provide support for on-course player scoring, ball spotting, shuttle driving, and numerous other activities.
We are looking for volunteers wishing to work either a single day, two, three, or all four days. Volunteers may request their preference on assignments, and every attempt is made to meet personal request.
All volunteers receive a free golf shirt, breakfast and lunch.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Franklin Roth at [email protected].
Founded in 1983, the Junior Golf Association of Arizona (JGAA) is a non-profit organization that introduces Arizona’s youth to the game of golf and helps junior golfers develop golf and life skills through competitive programs and tournaments. In addition to developing programs at schools and assisting Arizona golf courses with their junior programs, the JGAA conducts more than 100 programs and activities, including etiquette clinics, tournaments, and college prep seminars throughout Arizona each year. Our mission is to educate, motivate and inspire future leaders through the game of golf.
Future Golf Champions was founded in 2003 by Chris Smeal, PGA teaching professional, to inspire junior golfers in the most positive and fun environment, by hosting the highest quality tournaments at the most affordable prices.
This year's sponsors for which we are most appreciative.
